Jim Moore, AAMS®, CMFC®

Senior Family Advisor

Jim Moore is a Senior Family Advisor and comes to us from Cornerstone Advisors with more than 23 years of combined experience in both institutional and retail investment management. While at Cornerstone Jim was responsible for both the supervision of advisors, serving approximately $1.8B of over $4B in assets under management, which included some of the most complex families, as well as directly serving high and ultra-high net worth families in both Washington and Alaska. In addition to his supervisory and client facing duties, Jim developed Cornerstone’s advisor training program and led the implementation and launch of the eMoney financial modelling software.

Prior to Cornerstone, Jim worked at the Frank Russell Company in Tacoma, Washington where he held a variety of progressive positions during his tenure, including over 6 years in the Investment Management & Research group as one of only 5 people trusted to conduct contract negotiations with sub-advisors, as appointed by the board of directors. In addition to contract negotiations at Russell, Jim led large, diverse, international teams transitioning assets between sub-advisors, aided in the development and launch of new mutual fund products, led the development of an investment guideline monitoring system that monitored over 500 global investment guidelines covering multiple asset classes, and held lead roles in Russell’s securities lending and soft dollar programs. Following his role at Russell, Jim also worked as an Investment Counselor at Fisher Investments where he advised and served over 170 families from around the country.

He is a graduate from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Finance and holds the AAMS® and CMFC® designations from the College for Financial Planning along with his FINRA Series 65 certification.

Jim was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and now enjoys life with his wife, their son and their rescued miniature schnauzer, Bentley. He is a licensed private pilot, enjoys fishing, and almost anything outdoors. In the community he participates in events for Friends of Youth, Treehouse, and volunteers his time on the Bear Creek golf team.
